The Great Wall Marathon is a marathon held partly on the Great Wall of China.

The documentary follows three different characters trying to finish this brutal race which includes mounting 30.000 steps on the wall – not once, but twice!

Lars Bom (DK), a fit man in his thirties, Sean Fishpool (UK), amateur runner and editor of the magazine Runners World, and Kathy Lopez (USA), a woman of 80 years old. They are all ready to tackle the race head-on, but must soon realize that they are in for a hard struggle to accomplish this brutal challenge.
